PARKINSON, Trent Trent Parkinson passed away on Saturday, Nov 5, 2016, at his home after a short illness. Trent was born in Denver in 1925 to Trent and Mabel Holcomb Parkinson. He grew up in Tulsa where he graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1944. He served in WW II with the U.S. Army in Europe; he graduated from the University of Tulsa. PARKINSON, Trent Trent Parkinson passed away on Saturday, Nov 5, 2016, at his home after a short illness. Trent was born in Denver in 1925 to Trent and Mabel Holcomb Parkinson. He grew up in Tulsa where he graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1944. He served in WW II with the U.S. Army in Europe; he graduated from the University of Tulsa. Trent started his career in the apparel business with J.M. Woods in Waco and then spent the next 25 years as an executive in various divisions of Genesco and Kayser-Roth. He later worked as an investment banker with the Treadstone Group Inc. and Michael T. Nurre & Co. Trent had a great love and interest in music. He especially loved swing and jazz and played the drums professionally with his own group and others in the Dallas area for over 40 years. Until this past August, he volunteered with the Kings of Swing for weekly dancing at the Plano Senior Center. He is survived by his wife, Johanna Grilli Parkinson, 3 children: David Parkinson of Waco, (Beth), Patricia Tynes of Waco and Donald Parkinson of Ft. Davis and 3 grandchildren: David Parkinson, Jr., Laine Parkinson and Clay Tynes. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at the DFW National Cemetery on December 2. A Celebration of His Life will follow at 4-6 at the Country Place Clubhouse. Memorials may be made to Austin Street Shelter, Doctors Without Borders or charity of your choice.
